Mzansi Magic | Film Production
In 2021, Nkokheli Creatives co-produced Molamu – The Fighting Stick, a short film commissioned by Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161), bringing the script to life from concept through production. As co-producers, Nkokheli Creatives was responsible for bringing together the creative, production and logistical elements required to deliver the film to broadcast standard. The film subsequently premiered on Mzansi Magic in October 2021. Beyond the production itself, Molamu was intentionally rooted in the Free State, with filming taking place in QwaQwa and approximately 90% of the production crew sourced from the province. This approach was a deliberate investment in local talent and the Free State's creative economy, providing provincial creatives with an opportunity to work on a nationally broadcast production. Molamu – The Fighting Stick reflects Nkokheli Creatives’ commitment to telling authentic South African stories, developing local creative talent and creating pathways for provincial talent to access national platforms.
